S. Sibona Njaji is Chairperson, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at SIONA Technologies, where he sets technology direction, engineering standards and leads the company’s work on large language models and applied artificial intelligence.
Samson Sibona Njaji is an AI engineer and full-stack software engineer who builds and deploys large language model systems: retrieval-augmented generation, agent workflows, evaluation harnesses, prompt and context engineering, fine-tuning and the serving infrastructure that keeps these systems dependable in production.
At SIONA he leads the engineering behind the company’s intelligence layer — including Weza AI, the WhatsApp-based AI assistant for African businesses — pairing model work with the data pipelines, APIs, guardrails and human-oversight design that make AI usable inside everyday operations.
His wider engineering work spans Velora Marketplace, SIONA’s product ecosystem, cloud and AWS architecture, secure API and data model design, and production-minded web systems built for discoverability, performance and operational clarity.
He works from Kenya and builds for African contexts first: locally adapted and multilingual AI, energy-efficient approaches to intelligence, and systems that stay affordable and trustworthy under real business pressure.
